Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Dogs4u collects, why, and your rights, in accordance with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 and its regulations. Database owner and controller: BOAZ GOLAN MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCTIONS LTD.

What we collect

• Account: the sign-in details you choose - phone number (WhatsApp sign-in, or a fixed code for testers), email address and a hashed password for email sign-in, a Google account ID if you sign in with Google, or the public key of a passkey. Plus: name, city/region, language and notification preferences. We do not send SMS.
• Dog listings: dog details, photos, city, and the contact details you choose to show (name and phone/WhatsApp). This is public in the Service.
• Chat and calls: messages, voice notes, photos and videos sent in chat are stored on our server to deliver them. Voice/video calls go directly between devices (WebRTC) or via an encrypted relay server and are not recorded; only call metadata (who, when, duration) is kept.
• Activity: likes, views, reports, blocks.
• Technical: IP address, device/browser type, server logs for security and abuse prevention, and notification tokens (Web Push / Firebase Cloud Messaging).
• Local storage: the app stores a sign-in token and preferences (such as language and sound) on your device. We use no advertising cookies or third-party tracking.

Why

To run the Service (account, listings, chat, calls, notifications), for safety (automatic screening of photos for inappropriate content, handling reports, preventing fraud and spam), to improve the Service and to comply with the law.

Who we share with

• Other users: what you post in a listing, your name and city, and messages you send them.
• Service providers processing data for us: server hosting (Oracle Cloud), Google Firebase (Android notifications), browser Web Push services, Brevo (sign-in and password-reset emails), and WhatsApp/Meta when you choose WhatsApp sign-in (you send us a message with a one-time code).
• Authorities, where required by law or to protect safety, in particular in cases involving harm to children.

We do not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept while your account is active. Deleting your account deletes your account, listings, photos, likes and messages; messages you sent to others may remain with them in anonymised form. Backups are purged within 14 days. Reports and security logs may be kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights

You may access the information about you, ask to correct or delete it, and withdraw consent to notifications. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by contacting us: nearu@nearu.co.il.

Security

Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS), chat media is reachable only through signed links, and back-office access requires two-factor authentication. No security is perfect; we will notify material security incidents as required by law.

Minors

The Service is for people aged 18+. If we learn a minor opened an account, we will delete it.

Transfers abroad

Some providers may process data outside Israel, subject to the Privacy Protection (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations.
